REPLACEMENT OF TAILPLANE / FIN LOCATING PINS
Applicable to Astir CS gliders, all serial numbers. These pins were found to be cracking in service during 1980. All pins were replaced by the manufacturer to GFA AD 194. In October the replacement pins were found to be cracking in service. In November, 1982 the GFA issued a precautionary inspection asking for pins to be crack detected, cracked pins to be replaced. All old style pins subject to a 25 hour inspection interval. New style replacement pins supplied by manufacturer to be fitted observing manufacturers torque specifications.
