The GFA is delegated under CAR 35, 36 and 36A by CASA to approve designs for the modification to sailplanes and powered gliders. To exercise the rights and obligations conveyed by the CASA delegations GFA must conform with both CASA and international civil aviation rules governing modifications and design approvals. This AN describes the procedures for applicants for design approvals of modifications on sailplanes and powered gliders under the umbrella of the GFA.
