This is a summary of Aircraft Defect Reports submitted. The highly critical events will have been reported to the manufacturer or CASA by the GFA. The GFA watches for trends and will issue ADs or Airworthiness Alerts if required to all registered gliders.
The main objective is to help the gliding community learn from events and improve reliability and safety.
All these reports come from Aircraft Defect Reports submitted by email or through the Safety Operations Airworthiness Reporting system (SOAR). The GFA will update this list every few months and will also publish summaries in Gliding Australia.
