CRACKING OF RUDDER PEDALS
Applicable to the IS-28B2, IS-30 and IS-32. While performing spin training the front rudder pedal of an IS-28B2 failed across the bearing support tube. Recovery was affected by the rear pilot. Before next flight and at each Form 2, inspect the front rudder pedals for cracks as shown in figure 1 of this AD. Use dye-pentrant. Any cracks found must be repaired by welding and the tube reamed to suit the bronze bushes. Welding must be done by an approved welder. If repair is not practical the part must be replaced.
