INSPECTION, MODIFICATION OF CONTROL COLUMN BASE BEARING
The manufacturer distributed Technical Bulletin 101-22, asking for inspection / modification of base bearings. Following a survey of all Australian Saltos this AD was issued differing from Bulletin 101-22 in the method of modification. The cracking of this component is due to very poor detail design of the welded joints.
