Grob gliders have a history of delamination of control surface hinges with both aileron and elevator hinges found to be delaminated A number of factors could contribute to the delamination of the hinges including normal wear and tear, poor fitting wing walkers or trailer fittings and removal of the roll pins using a punch without using an adequate dolly beyond the pins to absorb the impact.
