PERIODIC MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicable to the Blanik L13, all variants, all serial numbers. The factory maintenance requirements in addition to the annual GFA form 2 inspections and 20, 30 year surveys has resulted in a significant amount of extra work for Blanik operators but has not resulted in any improvement to Blanik safety. Some years ago simplified procedures for completing 50 hourly inspections were incorporated in AN 49 however the AD requirement to complete 50 hourly inspections in accordance with the Blanik Technical Manual was never removed. AD 77 has therefore been updated to remove any question over the status of the simplified procedures. Report 82-10 Blanik 50 Hourly Inspections.
