AEROTOW RELEASE HOOK MODIFICATION
Applicable to the L-13, L-13 A1 Blaniks including any Blanik fitted with a power pod modification. Two release incidents of abortive aerotow rope release have occurred in which tug, glider and crews safety was seriously jeopardized. The release mechanism has an excessive over-centre toggle lock in the linkage and requires an excessive release operating load if the tow rope tension is not relaxed by correct tow rope release technique.
