MISCELLANEOUS AIRWORTHINESS INFORMATION - NIMBUS-3DM  & Nimbus-3DT. 

1. Trim Ballast - Schempp-Hirth Technical Note No. 847-1 allows the installation of trim ballast weights. 2. Rigging Data - Schempp-Hirth Technical Note No. 847-2 allows changes to the method of measuring control surface deflections to make setting up the controls easier. This is standard on Nimbus 3DT serial numbers 55 and up and Nimbus 3DM serial number 22 and up. 3 - Wedekind Safety Sleeves. Schempp-Hirth Technical Note No. 847-6 allows the installation of Wedekind Safety Sleeves instead of the standard locking pins required by GFA AD 177. Note that the installation of these sleeves at the wing inner to outer panel junction is not permitted as there is insufficient space. See GFA AD 418. 4 - Ducati Ignition. Schempp-Hirth Technical Note No. 847-7 allows the installation of a Ducati Electronic Ignition unit on the Nimbus 3DM as the original unit is no longer available.
